CBD FAQ

1.) What is CBD?

Open tab

CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of over 100+ beneficial compounds, known as phytocannabinoids (plant based cannabinoids), found in the hemp variety of the cannabis sativa plant. The two major cannabinoids in the hemp plant are CBD, which is Non-Psychoactive and THC, which is Psychoactive. CBD is found in abundance in the hemp plant and THC is Federally regulated to have only a less than 0.3% concentration (which is the reason that hemp and CBD are legal in most of the US states.)

CBD, along with the other minor cannabinoids, such as CBG, CBN, CBC, to name a few, make up the beneficial compound profile of the hemp plant. This profile also includes other beneficial compounds known as terpenes and flavonoids.

2.) What is the difference between Full-spectrum and Broad-Spectrum CBD Oil?

Open tab

Full-Spectrum CBD Oil is extracted from the hemp flower, (sometimes leaves are included) and the resulting extract includes all of the beneficial compounds of the hemp plant. This includes the primary cannabinoids CBD and THC (less than 0.3%), minor cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. Full-spectrum CBD Oil products are also sometimes referred to as ‘Whole Plant’ extract because it delivers the benefits of the plant as nature intended!

Broad-Spectrum CBD Oil is fundamentally the same as Full-Spectrum CBD oil. The main difference is that Broad-Spectrum Oil has gone through an additional process that mitigates the THC content to a trace amount. Therefore, Broad-Spectrum CBD Oil delivers most of the Full-Spectrum CBD benefits without a detectable presence of THC.

3.) Do our herbal supplements have CBD in them?

Open tab

Our line of Herbal Supplements does not contain CBD. They are formulated with natural herbs and vitamins to address various areas of health support.

4.) Will CBD cause me to fail a drug test?

Open tab

Abundant Hope Naturals Broad-Spectrum CBD products have an untraceable THC content. However, Full-Spectrum products, that are ingestible, might in very rare circumstances, show THC in a test. Even though the THC is at a legal level, there are rare instances that can be attributed to an individual’s physiology that cause THC to show up.

We at Abundant Hope Naturals recommend that anyone that needs to test for employment, or otherwise, do not take the risk with Full-Spectrum CBD products.

5.) How much CBD should I take?

Open tab

Each individual’s body is different, therefore, the best way to begin taking CBD is to start slow, with a small dose and see how you feel. If you feel that you need to increase the dose amount, do so slowly, over time. In this way you will find what dose and frequency works best for you.

All CBD tincture product orders at Abundant Hope Naturals come with a chart with approximate CBD mg concentration per ml of tincture. CBD edibles like Gummies and Softgels are labeled with the concentration of CBD per Softgel or Gummie.

6.) Will CBD make me feel high?

Open tab

CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it will not make you feel high. CBD is known for promoting a feeling of calm, ease and relief while maintaining mental clarity and focus.

7.) There are a lot of choices, what is the difference between CBD tinctures, topicals, and edibles?

Open tab

CBD tinctures, when taken sublingually, provide a fast acting delivery of CBD directly into your bloodstream.

CBD Edibles are processed through the digestive system and therefore provide a slower delivery, over time. A slow delivery also has the beneficial component of a time-lapse release of CBD into the bloodstream.

CBD Topicals can provide an immediate relief to targeted areas of the body, as in the case of sore muscles and joint pain.

It is also safe to combine the use of CBD tinctures or edibles with CBD topical applications.

8.) What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Open tab

Both hemp and marijuana are varieties of the cannabis sativa plant. Marijuana has a high concentration of THC, which is what makes it psychoactive: in other words, you will get high.

Hemp has a naturally higher concentration of CBD than marijuana and a very low and federally regulated (less than 0.3%) concentration of THC.Hemp is considered federally legal because of the low THC concentration, which makes it non-psychoactive.

Both hemp and marijuana share the same beneficial compounds and the main difference is the CBD and THC concentration.
